DIY Drink Stirs

This was one of my favorite DIY wedding projects, maybe because my maid of honor did it for me!  I really wanted drink stirs and I wanted to incorporate our wedding monogram (remember it on our DIY Welcome Bags?)  We had an idea for the other side of the flag to incorporate famous quotes about drinking, libations, alcohol, etc. to add a little conversation starter to the party.  Here are a few of my favorite quotes we used:

"Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk.  That will teach you to keep your mouth shut."
-Ernest Hemingway

"I drink therefore I am."
-W.C. Fields

"Beer is the cause and solution to all of life's problems."
-Homer Simpson

"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."
-Benjamin Franklin

"It takes only one drink to get me drunk. The trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or the fourteenth."
-George Burns

Materials Needed:

Color Printer
Paper Cutter
8.5 x 11″ 80lb card stock (in color of your choice)
Scissors or Wire cutters
Thin Bamboo Skewers
Permanent Double Sided Tape
OR, instead of card stock and tape you can use labels/stickers, and cut to size (I found mine at Paper Source)
Instructions:

1.  Design your template.  Print using the highest settings on your color printer to ensure that the text is sharp.
2.  Cut each flag.  Make sure the strips are the same size (depending on what is on your flag).
3.  Using your scissors, cut the bamboo skewers into 6” length pieces.
4.  Fold the flags in half.
5.  Secure the flag around the top of the bamboo skewer using double sided tape.
