Tara contacted me and had a special request for her peony wedding invitations. She needed her invitations in both English and Chinese. I've always wanted to do Chinese wedding invitations - the characters are just so gorgeous. Tara knew she wanted a tea length invitation and she liked the idea of the Chinese text being on vellum. I had just designed this new gatefold for Kate, one of my October brides. The design was perfect for this invitation and Tara loved the idea.
The Chinese text was printed on silver vellum and includes the Chinese symbols for "Welcome" in hot pink.
The English text portion of the wedding invitation was designed with a flowing fuschia peony.
When put together the graphic from the vellum and the invitation card form one peony graphic.
Tara's colors are charcoal grey and fuschia and are so striking in this custom gatefold. The inserts are held in place with a peony graphic sash in hot pink.
The RSVP postcard is designed with the peony and the Chinese symbol for double happiness. Directions were also included to the Skirball Cultural Center with peony leaves.
Deep grey envelopes were designed with a fuschia envelope wrap.
