Danny DeVito and Rhea Pearlman

How can you not love Danny DeVito and his lengthy and diverse career?

Danny DeVito and wife Rhea Perlman were married on January 8, 1982 (or the 28th, depending on the source). Legend says that they were married during a lunch break on the set of Taxi. They have three children, and are one of Hollywood's long-lasting relationships.

The couple, who had been together for 11 years before making it official, were wed in a rainy, garden ceremony on a Thursday** afternoon.

Known for their work in comedy, they couldn’t help but interject humor into their nuptuals. The two walked down the aisle to a recording of Our Gang’s Alfalfa singing “I’m in the Mood for Love.”

Perlman wore a rented antique gown because she reportedly couldn’t decide between a sweatsuit or a T-shirt. To top it off, the ceremony took place during DeVito’s lunch break from the show “Taxi.” No word on whether he made it back to work on time.

It seems that they also had a wedding reception on February 8 because Life Magazine's website has some paparazzi photos of John Belushi and Jack Nicholson leaving the party.

Sorry that there aren't any photos of them from their actual wedding, but aren't they adorably funny anyway?

Vintage presidential wedding

Today's vintage wedding photo is of Harry & Bess Truman - the 33rd US President and his first lady. Their courtship reads like a romance novel because young Harry fell in love with Bess when they were only children.

Looking young, adorable, and southern on their wedding day - June 28, 1919

Eight letters, revealed this week to the media for the first time ever by Truman's eldest grandson, Clifton Truman Daniel, shed insight into the intimate and close relationship shared by the Truman couple, who met at Sunday school when Harry was 6 and Bess was 5.

"He recalled in his memoirs, walking in and seeing this blue-eyed, blond-haired little girl, and he was just smitten," Daniel said. "He basically carried a torch for her from then on, all through grade school and high school.

"As far as we know, she had one or two other suitors, but he never looked at another woman from the age of 6 on."

Twenty-nine years later, while overseas after the end of World War I, Truman implored Bess to marry him. "Please get ready to march down the aisle with me just as soon as you decently can when I get back," he wrote on Feb. 18, 1919.

The whole article is a long, but interesting read. The found letters shed light on the private personalities of the President and First Lady.

The two were married until his death in 1972. They had one daughter, Margaret Truman. Bess Truman lived to be 97, making her the longest lived First Lady in US history.

Patrick Swayze's wedding

Patrick Swayze died yesterday, so I thought I look up his marital situation. I read that he was married, but I didn't realize how married he was! Got your tissues ready?

Patrick Swayze and Lisa Niemi married when they were just 22 and 19 years old. They were never previously married, and they never divorced. The two met when Lisa was taking dance classes under Patrick's mother; she was only 16.

Patrick Swayze and Lisa Niemi were married on June 12, 1975. He wore a blue suit and she wore a simple white dress. They look adorable and so young! Cute!

I think her look is pretty elegant and timeless. He looks cute, and his hair is so very seventies!

The two stayed together throughout his battle with alcohol and drugs, and through her two miscarriages. They never had any children.

In 2008, after Patrick's cancer diagnosis, the two renewed their vows in a fairytale ceremony on their ranch in New Mexico.

"We did it very Prince Charming and Snow White," said Patrick who rode to the ceremony on a white stallion. "It was like a fairytale," added Lisa. "One of the happiest days ever."

I love reading stories about people that stay together - they're never shy to say how hard it is, but they always seem so happy.

Patrick Swayze died September 14, 2009 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. The two were married for 34 years.

Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward

How can you not love these two? They lived outside of the Hollywood stereotype of serial monogamy and stayed married for over 50 years!

This photo is so painfully beautiful, I don't even have words to describe it. It makes me feel safe for some reason. What? It DOES.

The two met in 1953 when they were working on a Broadway play together - he was married, she was not. His first wife was named Jackie Witte; she and Newman had three children together. Shortly after the divorce was final, Newman and Woodward were married.

The ceremony took place on January 29, 1958 in Las Vegas at the Hotel El Rancho Vegas (one of the first strip resorts; now a Hilton property)

They look so...normal. Everything seems really unpretentious. I think these photos fit their persona - normal, loving couple. She looks really beautiful in a simple kind of way. She might be your cousin or aunt. I love giant collars on women - I need to find out what that style is called. Simple jewelry, no veil or elaborate lace concoction. He has a single white chrysanthemum in his lapel. Seriously, it doesn't get any more down to earth than this. I admire them both for their charity work, and for finding the strength to stay together for so long.
