The first full day of our cruise was a sea day. For those of you that haven't cruised before, that means there are no stops for that day and you're just traveling.
When we woke up, it was kind of dreary weather. Overcast with kind of rough seas. Nothing that you wanted to see in the Caribbean.
We went to the main dining room for breakfast. Normally my breakfast consists of honey buns and a Diet Coke, so this was a real treat for me. I had pancakes with strawberry syrup and Jason had an omelette. Little backstory on myself. I was born and raised (until 6th grade) in a small town called Madison, IN. Well, our first morning at breakfast, we sat with 3 women who were from Madison, IN! One of them actually knows my step-father and used to work with my grandmother. Crazy!
About 11am, we went up to the specialty restaurant for a cooking demonstration. They gave you a recipe booklet as you walked in so you could follow along with the chefs. They showed you how to make and present 4 dishes. Then, they brought out samples of each one so you could try it. They were absolutely delicious. I'm going to try and make a couple of them at home. This cooking demonstrations was definitely one of the highlights of my trip.
