I just returned from a few days in sunny, springlike San Francisco, to meet with a custom wedding dress client and to catch the Yves Saint Laurent exhibit at the deYoung Museum before it closes. Although Yves isn't "my guy" in terms of designers (too many big shoulders and sequins to suit me), there was one piece that I really, really loved:It's a knitted wedding dress from his Fall/Winter 1965 collection (the same collection that produced the famous Mondrian dresses). People all around me were laughing hysterically at this piece at the exhibit (and okay, it is a little phallic), but as far as a fashion statement wedding dress goes, this one takes the gâteau. I didn't have the guts to take a surreptitious photo at the show, so I had to snitch this one from another blog. [thanks]
